Earlier in the day the SLTV StarSeries VIII third place finishers topped another Bulgarian side 1Stood in the quarter-final (16-7 on de_inferno, 16-3 on de_nuke), and then Macedonians ENTiTY in the semi-final (16-11 on de_nuke, 16-8 on de_inferno).
On the other side of the bracket HSBG made light work of Hungarians Concussion (16-3 on de_nuke, 16-7 on de_inferno) in their quarter-final, and then knocked out E-Frag in the semis 2-0 (16-8 on de_mirage, 16-12 on de_nuke).
Even though both teams entered the grand final without dropping a map, GamePub were still considered favorites. The Bulgarians managed to put up a solid fight, especially on the second map, but the Serbian-Bosnian-Macedonian combo was more successful in the end, winning 2-0 (16-9 on de_nuke, 19-16 on de_inferno).
